The OMGWTFBBQ is back for 2024!!August 17 from 12 noon until 4pm
The Fursuiters Group photo will be at 2pm!
Come out to Point Pleasant park and join us for the biggest Atlantic Furry event of the summer!
The event will be held this year at Point Pleasant Park, on Sailors Memorial Way (Map linked below)This is a free event to attend, although we are accepting donations for general cost and to keep the events going!
We will be having a BBQ and drinks available to purchase(Cash and EMT/e-transfer only)Please feel free to bring a picnic lunch or food to share with friends. Please be aware of contents/allergies if sharing.
We ask anything to share is either in a store-bought container, or labeled with ingredients/allergens
Masking is not required at this event as we are outdoors, however it is still encouraged. Our Food team will be masking during food cooking/prep.

Fursuiting of any kind is encouraged and we will have a few games for the suiters as well as a group photo. Please be aware changing areas are limited/not available.
The Fursuiters Group photo will be at 2pm!
We will have some games to play this year as well!


Please also be aware of the weather! It is likely to be warm, bring water/sunscreen/dress for the weather!
Bathrooms are available at the park, but they are a bit of a walk away!


This is not specifically a market, but furry crafters in our community are welcome to set up a blanket and sell goods if they choose. Must be their own work, and suitable for all ages.
Anyone selling items are responsible for their own space.
-Sellers likely will only have Cash as a option to purchase, maybe EMT/e-transfer, think of that when coming if you're interested in buying items.


We are still looking for some volunteers and donations to help out!

Furry Meetup + Photoshoot
BEFORE the Hal-Con panel, we will be outside, for a Cosplay meetup & group photoshoot! There will also just be a general meetup and hangout. Due to this being outside the convention anyone is welcome to come by for the outside meet-up and have fun 🙂PHOTOSHOOT!!! @ 3:30pm Sat Nov.9


We have an official Photographer for our photoshoot. This is happening at 3:30 p.m. sharp. We will be doing a big group photo of all the fursuiters. This will be on Argyle in front of the convention center, or in the tunnel/rogers square depending on the weather.

Our social pages, and chats are aimed at providing a space for Atlantic Canadian furries and their friends, as well as those who are considering visiting/moving to the Atlantic Canada region.Rules are subject to updates at any timeBy joining any of out chats or social pages you agree to abide by the chat rules listed here:

Rule 1:

Please understand that our group is open to everyone of all ages, genders, sexualities, etc. Due to this, we want to foster a PG13 SFW environment which everyone can enjoy.This limitation on PG13 content includes the following:
Images, Videos, Gifs, Links, Names, Descriptions, Text, StickersThe one exception to this rule is linking to your own personal furry account. (E.g. FA/SF/etc…)

Rule 2:

We have zero tolerance for threats or discriminatory behavior. Our group is an open and safe place for furs of all sexualities, gender, religion and race..This includes:
Making threats towards others
Discrimination based on gender, race, sexuality, religion etc.
Sharing links/pages/servers with the intent to bully/harass or create drama for other members/moderators.

Rule 3:

No Spamming/Flooding the chat
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Repeatedly saying the same words/phrases over and over
- Reposting the same image/sticker/link/videos
- Unwarranted self-promotion outside of the correct channelsTo reduce the possibility of spamming the chat:
Put large collections of images into an album, and share it instead of individual images.Links promoting other sites/pages/events/servers should be cleared by mods/admins prior to being posted or they may be removed without warning.

Rule 4:

Light Roleplay only.
Do:
-Keep it short and simple (No more than 3 responses back and forth)
-Be respectful of othersDon’t:
-Drag others into a roleplay who hasn’t consented to it
-Have roleplays that are intended for a private audience

Rule 5:

Actions/Behaviour outside of the chat, reflects your ability to participate within the chat.To promote a safe environment for everyone, we will review complaints on a case-by-case basis when a chat member is believed to have behaved inappropriately outside of the chat within the past 3 months.Things we consider to be inappropriate:
Making threats towards others
Discrimination based on gender, race, sexuality, etc.
Illegal behavior

Rule 6:

Patterns of disruptive (Including attention/validation seeking) behavior are not permitted.
Drama from other servers does not belong in our community.Examples:
- Posting a picture of your cat every day for a week.
- Constantly posting pictures of everyday objects from stores.
- Constantly posting selfies/pictures of yourself that are not furry related.
- Constantly posting in an attempt to gain pity, e.g. "I'm sad."
- Constantly posting in an attempt to gain attention, e.g. "Look at me!"Pictures of you hanging out with folks in the chat, attending furmeets, fursuits, artwork, etc is all 100% ok!While we encourage our members to reach out in times of need, the chat is intended for casual general conversations. If you require help to the point of consistent and problematic disruption then we will be forced to remove you to ensure that the chat continues to operate normally.

Consequences

Any violation of these rules is subject to the following actions:
- A warning
- A temporary ban from the group
- A permanent ban from the group for repeated offenses or serious misconductWhen given a warning, the moderator will take a screenshot of the warning being given.
If a moderator is blocked upon giving a warning, you will be immediately removed from the group.Bans will be shared with our other local groups cross-platform other than where the offense occurred. (ie: if it happens on telegram, the facebook group and discord admins will also be made aware of Atlantic Furs, but the information will also be shared with the local groups ie: Nova Scotia Furs, Newfoundland Furries etc.)

Bans

Temporary ban: Removed from the group for a predefined period of time. Welcome to return to the group after the ban period is waited-out.Permanent ban: Removed from the group for an indefinite period.All bans may be appealed.
Permanent bans may not be appealed for a period of 1 year starting from the date of the ban.Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, and the moderator team reserves the right to uphold the ban for any reason. If an individual has not fixed the behavior that caused them to be removed in the first place, they should not expect to have the ban removed.Example of proof of fixing behavior: Character witnesses from outstanding members of the local community.

18+ Server Rules (Special access only)

Some of our social servers have adult-only 18+ areas. These areas have additional screening, and require a moderator of the server to approve the specified role to view the channels.The user must provide their Date of birth. This information will be archived along with the chat you had with the moderator and your age/birthday to ensure no one gets in trouble for allowing you access to the mature content.You agree that the information provided to the moderator is legitimate and you will follow the rules of the NSFW channels. Immediate action will be taken if the rules are broken or we find you lied about age/Date of Birth including removal of 18+ access and possibly being Kicked or banned from the server(s).Inside the 18+ channels the regular rules are still in effect.
Rule 1 being the exception as 18+ content is permitted to be posted and discussed in accordance with these additional rules.

NSFW POSTING RULES- No IRL(real-life) NSFW - Nothing irl-human, irl-animal, or HumanxAnimal
including Nudes/(human)Porn, *Tasteful artistic nudes excepted
- Selfie Saturday. Exception to the above rule is on Saturdays you may post pictures of yourself- No Underage/Child/Cub, Zoo etc.
- No Extreme Gore/Abuse/snuff/implied-snuff
- Be careful in posting characters from cartoons intended for children
